Supervisor Safety Leadership
10 May 2017
The Supervisor is the person closest to influencing front line employee behavior. The Supervisors’ attitudes, values, and attributes will be reflected in the actions of employees working under their direction.
* Supervisors are expected to bring out the best in people, get extraordinary performance, and facilitate team cohesion among large and diverse work groups while meeting production goals and following policy.
* Supervisors typically are promoted from operations and on top of their operational skills, they must develop leadership skills to produce desired results. Leadership skills are essential and can be learned, specifically as they apply to daily operational challenges.
- One example would be simple communication skills to confirm expectations with employees .
